User Interface - Round Recap

The round recap shows detailed information about each player's hand, the discards, and the actions taken by each player.
This overview is divided into several sections:

Round Scores

This section displays the status at the end of the round: The cards, scores, and ranking for the round, as well as the melds that have been played.

In this example, 'Robot-3' won the round, 'ann' only had one cards left, and 'Robot-1' had several and incurred many penalty points. The final status of melds is also displayed.

Turns

At the beginning of each turn, any existing melds are displayed.

The arrows (< and >) next to the turn number allow you to jump to the next or previous turn. The played melds at that time (if any), are also shown. Each player's actions are shown in detail.

Each line shows the player's icon, their cards, the action they took, the cards involved, and any meld that was created or modified.

In the example above, Robot-1 discards the 8, and Ann takes it. She then played her two sets of three. Note that the 'X' in her icon changes to a checkbox to show that she has met the minimum for the round. She then attempts (twice) to discard a card that could play (a 'rummy'), then chooses another card that cannot play. However, the 'Play Protect' option was enabled and told her that she had some possible plays.

Recaps can be very useful and informative. They can be a great way to learn some of the strategy involved in the game, and perhaps answer some 'what-if' questions. Although the robot players aren't very smart, they seem to make some pretty good evaluations enough of the time.
